I got back from a very long road trip and painted this portrait – in retrospect I feel that I may been a little depressed about coming back to the real world. It is quite a dark self portrait, my recent work has been much lighter.

This piece was done about two years ago for a uni project and I have not shared it until now. It was done in a hotel room and is life sized, I had the paper stuck onto one of those mirrored wardrobes and was drawing with a brush stuck to the end of a long metal ruler!

Movie star style with 3D glasses!

I have arrived back home after nearly six weeks of holidays. Getting up early and cleaning etc meant that I was able to capture some low lighting conditions in my bathroom (around six am). This photo continues the ongoing bathroom series of photos, drawings and paintings.

I have been staying with my parents during my last week of holidays and noticed these stainless steel wine goblets. I took about twenty photos trying to find the most interesting composition…I think this is it!

I had to use a ladder and a shovel to get the paw paws down, almost hitting myself and my dad with rock hard fruits that kept bouncing off things! I noticed the reflection when I sat it on the windowsill in the sun.

This photo was taken down at my sister and brother-in-law’s place, I love the red dirt!

I have been on the move this week so I am using some of my older photos for the next few posts, this is one of them…

Recently I experienced the unpleasantness of having a bug in my eye – it flew in while I was reading my book and I couldn’t get it out. I thought it best to go to sleep, hoping that the bug would make it’s way out of my eye by morning…it didn’t…as a result my eye was so swollen I almost couldn’t open it. This watercolour is based upon a photo I took the morning after, the technique is inspired by Cherry Hood’s awesome watercolour portraits.

As I turned the page of my sketchbook I noticed that the mirror ‘ghost’ image on the back was just as interesting (if not more so because of its amibiguity) so I photographed it too.
